    BIR filing deadlines explained

What happens if a deadline falls on a weekend or holiday?

Filing and payment move to the next working day. This calendar moves weekend dates automatically; check public holidays and any BIR extension announced for a specific deadline.

Is the monthly VAT return (2550M) still required?

No. Since January 2023, VAT-registered taxpayers file the quarterly VAT return (2550Q) only, under the TRAIN law.

Do I still pay the ₱500 annual registration fee?

No. The annual registration fee (BIR Form 0605) was removed by the Ease of Paying Taxes Act (RA 11976) starting 2024.

What is the difference between 0619-E and 1601-EQ?

0619-E remits expanded withholding tax for the first two months of a quarter. 1601-EQ is the quarterly return covering all three months, due on the last day of the month after the quarter ends.
